Why a Driver System?
Ask any amateur golfer how they would like to improve and most will
say they’d like to be more consistent. Ask those same golfers what it is
they really want to do more consistently and they’ll answer in terms of
length – a desire to hit longer shots more consistently, especially
longer drives. If there’s a possibility to be much longer – 20, 30, 40
or more yards longer off the tee – there there’s an authentic chance to
improve the way that golfer plays the game (see testimonials). Shorter
shots into the green mean more greens hit, offering better opportunities
for lower scores.

Our Drivers are designed to give you that length consistently!
Here’s how:
D = 1/2M x V2
That’s the scientific formula for distance. It says Distance is equal to
one half of Mass (weight) times Velocity (speed) squared. So you can
increase distance by:
-
Adding Mass (weight) or by
-
Increasing Velocity (speed)
By the formula you can see that if you add weight, only ½ of that addition
is effective, but if you add speed, that increase will be squared. So it
doesn’t take a genius scientist to see the most effective way to
increase Distance is to increase Speed. For an engineer the physics are
easy. The hard part is a design that is stable enough to consistently
delivery that speed.
The Pat Simmons Drivers are a system where each component is designed and
engineered to compliment the other components of the system creating a
synergistic condition of actions that is greater than the sum of its
individual parts. All with the idea of increased club head speed for
maximum distance. The Driver System consists of three areas that are
proprietary to Pat Simmons Golf – the Head, the Shaft, and the BOLO
Balancing to which each club is subjected as a part of our strict
tolerance controls insuring consistent quality and performance.
The Pat Simmons Driver System Consists of Three
Elements
THE HEAD:
Each
head is corrugated 9 times to produce the hardest, strongest, most
stable head in the game. You know the strength corrugation gives to
cardboard. Imagine that strength in Beta Titanium. It allows us to make
a head up to 10 grams lighter, which allows you to swing the club faster
with less effort. It means the head will not deform on impact, so the
face has less tendency to throw the ball off line. It means toe or heel
hits will still get great distance but more importantly will still be in
the fairway. It means the body of the head is extremely rigid, providing
the face with a platform for spring effect (COR) that is the maximum
allowed by the USGA. Our Drivers are made in three different head sizes
– 380cc, 420cc, and 460cc.
THE
SHAFT:
The
shaft in our system was designed by Pat after working with long drive
champions. It is made exclusively for us and for the heads in this
system. It is super light for faster swing speed with less effort. The
determining factor in swing speed is shaft length. Our standard driver
length is 47 inches, which again produces more speed with less effort
but swings and feels like clubs 3 or 4 inches shorter. Our graphite
design of 50+ million modulus of elasticity (most other good shafts are
around 30 million) is combined into a construction envelope for extreme
strength then formed to our proprietary power bias for stability. Our
club remains stable at 47 inches when most other shafts lose their
stability between 45 and 46 inches. Our shaft provides the most
efficient conversion of torque into thrust creating crushing power with
minimum effort. Our shaft is expensive, but when you hit it you’ll agree
it’s worth every penny!

BOLO BALANCING SYSTEM:
Our proprietary multi-point BOLO balancing system (like a gyron in a
guidance system) makes a longer shaft (which produces greater distance)
feel and swing like a shorter shaft. It’s a concept we know many great
professionals have used in their clubs, that we’ve refined to allow us
to “tune” our drivers to achieve maximum performance.

Because of the stability of this shaft, counter
balancing, light shaft weight and head weight, it’s easy to hit this
club consistently “on the screws”. The longer lever action created in
this system allows the average golfer to increase head velocity even
with slower swing speeds producing ripping drives longer and straighter
than before. The BOLO also dampens shock/vibration for improved feel.
Remember: distance is produced by multiplying ½ Mass times Velocity
Squared – we’ve developed the system that will allow you to get maximum
velocity with minimum effort.
Try it for the longest
drives ever!
